To test out this new space we’ve called in some of our most trusted residents and friends.
Myndgame, a man that by now should need no introduction to you, headlines our return. Myndgame’s impressive resume continues to grow as he firmly establishes himself as one of the best up and coming underground artists in Sydney. His effortless mixing ability across vinyl and digital tracks and his unique underground sound sees him regularly apart of respected events across Sydney & Wollongong.
Also on the night we have relative new comers and returning friends Mitch & Quini to set the tone across the first few hours.
Dejar then get the job of making sure the floor is in order for Myndgame, with our young apprentice Will Kors given his first big job of closing out a night.
Halloween is always party time, brush off the cobwebs from your outfits, grab a ticket and join us for a special night at a new space in Wollongong xx

DESERT THREADS
Desert Threads is a mixed media exhibition showcasing the work of sisters Bella Chidlow and Ingrid Neilson during their travels around Australia. The exhibit features wollen rugs illustrating the harsh environments of Western Australia and the Northern Territory in a tactile form.
The evening will also include a musical element inspired by the reverb found in desert gorges and reflected through vocal performance. Join us on May 11th at 7pm for this free event
Thieves Oil
David Field and Geoff Morrell have been playing music together for 10 years, firstly as The Number 4 Band, and for the last few years as Thieves Oil. A feature documentary on their time touring with the Number 4 Band is in final stages of completion. Dave and Geoff are better known for having acted in countless iconic television, film and theatre shows for over 40 years, but have always both individually and together made art, films and music.
The Thieves Oil show that they’ll be performing at 130ArtStudios began life at the Old Fitz Theatre in Darlinghurst as a fundraiser, and is very much a show still in development. With their original songs at the centre of the show, it also includes poems and a few yarns and observations from a couple of people who have 90 years collective experience in the performance game!
It sounds serious, but it’s always fun.
Joining us for one night only(at the moment) will be Virginie Laverdure and Berynn Schwerdt on vocals. They have been recording vocals for the Thieves Oil album that Dave and Geoff are currently recording, so it’s a real thrill to be able to sing live with them.
This is a show that we want to take around the world, so come along and say you were there at the beginning!
"Pieces of my heart"
"My purpose as an artist is to express my dreams through colorful shapes that tell a story.
I thought pet portraiture would be my niche, but as I started painting freehand finding inspiration in my day-to-day job, I discovered a freedom I have never experienced before.
My bright pallet describes my Mexican culture and my career as a make up artist inspires me on faces, shapes and backgrounds.
Growing as an artist keeps me motivated and I’m compelled to paint daily; to stay present and to see where this will take me"
Mountains + Saltwater
‘Mountains + Saltwater’ is a solo exhibition of contemporary Aboriginal painting, weaving, and sculpture by Muruwari woman, Dr Virginia Keft that tells a personal story of her connection to this land and place, Dharawal Country.

Charbel
Charbel has been sitting on something big. Growing up on the South Coast of New South Wales, Charbel was introduced to artists such as Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai, Prince, Pharrell Williams and Michael Jackson at an extremely young age. After nearly a half-decade in the making, it's finally time for Charbel to welcome you to Gardenia Ave. The seven-track release encompasses the young artist's wildest stylistic departures to date, as well as an ambitious accompanying visual aspect that takes listeners directly to the titular district. It all stemmed from a simple thought over morning TV: Who teaches you life lessons when you're already old enough to know better?
Charbel's solo work is a ride filled with passion and love for all things music. No genre solely defines Charbel's efforts and that can be heard in his evocative song writing & style.
Taven Exhibition
Prolific Street artist Taven is exhibiting in a gallery for the first time in 50 years.
You might have seen his graffiti on trains, on walls around the Sydney CBD and graffiti wall at Bondi Beach.
Taven grew up on the streets of Sydney after losing his mother in a car accident when he was a child.
Fighting to survive under these circumstances, Taven was always in trouble with the law and as a result he has been incarcerated for much of his life.
When Taven wasn’t in jail he was on the tracks creating extravagant graffiti for Sydney commuters to look at.
Taven is well known among the sydney Street art scene and has a big following.
Come down and check his exhibition followed by Charbel who will be performing from 9:00Pm.

Comprised by Nathan Dick (Vocals and drums), Roberto Klaic (Guitar, Drum machine, Synth) & Frx Murphy (Bass and Vocals).
G.U.N ( Galvanic, Unapologetic, Noise) was founded in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic whilst lockdown implications had separated these friends from playing and attending live music. Built on mutual love and appreciation for Electronica, Punk and experimental music, The trio began sending one another music over email. This was the beginning of a sonic dialogue that would eventuate into writing music together and soon after the conception and birth of G.U.N.
Freezer, Flat Track Bullies, Freight, Sover
Up next we’ll be hosting the pioneers of skeleton music, Freezer, April 7, as they celebrate their new EP
The Moving Stills 'BETTER' Tour
Come and celebrate the launch of The Moving Stills new single ‘Better’ at 130 Art Studios!
The Moving Stills wade through surf flavours with pop melodies that soothe and stick. The Central Coast based band write tracks that shoot through the barrel of a wave and spit out the back onto a 67’ Holden Ute. Gliding through a dance floor and stumbling onto a sweaty indie mosh pit with a bit of charm.

Film - Girls Cant Surf
It’s the 1980s and the world of professional surfing is a circus of fluoro colours, peroxide hair and radical male egos. Featuring surfing greats Jodie Cooper, Frieda Zamba, Pauline Menczer, Lisa Andersen, Pam Burridge, Wendy Botha, Layne Beachley and more, GIRLS CAN’T SURF is a wild ride of clashing personalities, sexism, adventure and heartbreak, with each woman fighting against the odds to make their dreams of competing a reality.
